SeMu .. a real, virtual organisation

SeMu Technologies Pty Ltd (SeMu) is a wholly-owned West Australian small business operating the professional services of development , maintenance and hosting of web sites and matters incidental thereto.

We consider ourselves a real, virtual organisation, if you will excuse the oxymoron ?.

A virtual organisation is one where the majority of intra-company and B2B activities are undertaken over distance using an electronic medium, usually the internet. Most large organisations have actually been using these techniques for many years over Electronic Data Interchange or EDI as it has been known.

The uproarious popularity of the internet has allowed the smallest of companies the ability to leap-frog the facilities EDI permitted to the largest of companies of just a few years ago. Unfortunately and regrettably most small businesses and medium-sized enterprises are only using the barest of these facilities and of course a large portion of businesses to day are simply ignoring e-commerce and hoping it will go away. Well it wont go away in fact in most academic circles there is little doubt that it will grow and develop exponentially over the next few years.

This SeMu Guide to E-Commerce is specifically aimed at assisting our own clients to utilise the many and varied e-commerce tools we provide for them. We consider the provision of a website facility as only the beginning of our client's online experience.

However, we hope our E-guide will be interesting and useful to all users as we will discuss how commerce will no-doubt be undertaken in years to come.
